im gonna be using my tahoe as a tow rig for my track car so i picked up the Firestone airbag kit for $260 at Summit Racing. it took 4 hours for the install (i took my time) and honestly if your not used to working on cars and have no patience then i would pay to have it done. YES its a direct bolt on kit but the stock bumpstop bolts takes a bit of talent to remove, i soaked them in PB blaster the day before but even with that, some of the angles i used to remove them were pretty difficult. i could see how someone would easily round off the nuts. the passenger side was the hardest, it took alot of patience to install the assembly past exhuast pipe, over the axle and under the frame rail.
but after everything was done i went to the gas station to air up and i couldnt believe how quick it raised the tahoe. i was really happy with the out come. so all i need to do is install my brake control kit with the harness kit from E-trailer.com that should be here this week. after ill get some new tires and im ready ill be ready to tow.
saggy rear
stock bumpstop
drilled hole for bolt
passenger side w/ heat shield
driver side
air lines attached to bumper
air lines attached to bumper
and 4 hours later
