Hi I am in the market for a first car and am highly interested in a Tahoe or Yukon. I went and test drove a 07 Tahoe LTZ today and absolutely love it. However, I'm confused between the Tahoe LTZ, Yukon SLT, and Yukon Denali. the questions I need answered are: Which model is the top of the line/fully loaded with all the options? Which model is the best on gas? Can someone please explain this to me. 07-14 years

Top of the line are Escalade and Denali. Then comes LTZ, then LT/SLT and then LS/SLE. Well, okay, I'm sure you can drill even deeper into the differences based on the individual options chosen by the orignal owner, but that's just a quick basic overview I have always used as a starting point.

Unless you get a Hybrid, differences between fuel efficiency are not that big, hence IMO a non-issue. You are not buying one of these big lumps for fuel efficiency to begin with. Right?

How much of a difference is there between the Denali and LTZ? I would like top of the line (not including Escalade, just Chevy and GMC) but I read that the Denali is very bad on gas because of the bigger motor. How much worse is it? Should I just take the hit in gas and get the Denali? Or be safe with the LTZ? Thanks so much

Also, correct me if I'm wrong:
LS=SLE
LT=SLT
LTZ=Denali

Hmmm bad gas due to motor size? Id say no thats not the case. The AWD may add to worse MPG, but more power to weight ratio and the right driving style should equal better MPG.

What would you recommend? Denali or LTZ?

I would pick power over mpg any day.

Agreed. If MPG is a big concern you shouldn't look at either lol.
I use my 4wd so for me a Z71 is hard to beat. If i had a DD choice aside from my ride..... Denali all day.

Yeah, the differences in MPG are marginal. Its not like youre getting 25-40MPG in these things. Denali has plenty of bells and whistles, 6.2 is awesome power. It really comes down to the looks you like better. Personally I like the Tahoe appearance better than the Yukon, and would chose the LTZ over Denali for looks. But the motor in the Denali is great.
