flip kits 2 wheel drive tahoe

hey guys newbie here i have a 1997 2 door 2 wheel drive and im puttin in a 5.5 inch flip in i was wondering the bracket that goes across from side to side do you keep that in or is it removed because it is straight under the rear axle please if some one has the answer or maybe a pic please let me know since my kit isnt going to be in for at least 5 weeks thanx
