So I just finished my exhaust system which consists of stock manifolds, Magnaflow y pipe and cats & flowmaster from there back with a 50 series muffler. It sounds great on the outside but there's a resonance or drone, if I'm using that term correctly, at 2000 rpm's. It's not really loud but I guess it's at the same frequency where my skull rattles and it's driving me nuts! I've looked at the flowmaster site and they make a 70 series which is supposed to be a little quieter but I'll have to cut my current pipes to make it fit. There's another company called heart throb which makes one that's supposed to eliminate or at least mitigate the drone. Does anybody have any experience with either of these choices and did anything help?

where does your tail pipe end at? Honestly anything aftermarket is going to have that type of sound behind you. Esp if its under the body, try and exit as far back as you can so you dont need to hear anything. Also check out youtube and see if anyone has the 70 series and that might help you out with the sound difference. its free to check out the sounds ya know. no point in going through alll the work of a new muffler and to figure out its too loud.

Thanks for your input. The exit is the stock exit behind the rear wheel on the right. I don't mind the extra sound at all and at highway speed it's not loud at all but accelerating (if you can call it that on a '95) it's really annoying as soon as it hits 2000 rpm's. It's almost as though it's poorly designed. Anything above or below 2000 and it's fine.

That's basically flowmaster for ya. The 70's would be a little better but would probably still yield some drone. Either you love it or hate it. Myself, I like it but my wife and kids don't!! :D this is why I'll probably go a different route with the exhaust on my burb...

if you put another resonator or glass pack before the flowmaster it'd be a cheap add-on and would probably knock the noise down some. probably get a cherry bomb for little or nothing and just either clamp or weld it in.
