I require some assistance from the great people here on the forum.

Ive been searching the web for a replacement fog light set that has a glass lens that will also fit a HID bulb. So far the ones I have found come from reputable companies such as PIAA and HELLA, but the catch seems to be either size, lens, or price.

If the lens is glass the size is for an off road driving light either 6 inches or greater.

If the size is right and the lens is glass, it either has a dedicated wired bulb or the lens is striated.

I did find a HID kit from PIAA but I cannot justify spending 900 dollars on it unless I were creating a retro for my fogs which, Im not.

At the moment I am running a custom BIxenon retro for my main beams. My truck was recently involved in a minor front end collision that ended up scratching the lens on the drivers headlight. As a result, I will be building a new quad BIxenon set up hopefully during the winter months. I want more light on the foreground and to fill up the empty circular holes in the front bumper.

Am I just better off buying the cheap plastic lens fogs and replacing them when the lens are burnt out?

I have the circular fog lights.

Any help is appreciated.

Ok before you go and go the tough route, How about running a 25w Hid kit? There are 880 hid kits. I had mine for about a year now and hasnt melted one bit but i have a 07 that uses 5202 hid. Another option try the http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php great people over there. They used to offer a Hid Foglight kit. Dont see it on the site but maybe if you call, they still have it.

I had never considered 35w ballasts. It is all so clear now!

But, on the other hand- those p1's look interesting. I wonder how they would last in winter weather conditions. The thing is, they dont list any dimensions. I dont want a gap around where the projector mounts. I think that just looks shotty. Although, they cost about as much as a replacement set of stock halogen housings so maybe they are worth a shot. Ive got more research to do.

Thanks for all the replies folks!
