Took my mouldings off my 08 tahoe and 07 avy to get the chrome trimed LTZ color matched door mouldings and they were both perfect paint underneath. Nothing the 3M eraser wheel didn't take care of in a few minutes.

Sound good. Good Luck with the removal of the factory trim, fishing line and eraser wheel and a good wash then a wax and you will be amazed at whats under that trim

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much. I took mine off and did the escalade moldings after 100k of Ny salt. No messed up or faded paint.

I bought a set for my Tahoe and they look great except that my driver door has blistered and shows corrosion now. I'm sure something was originally wrong with it because the other moldings look great. I hate to ask you if you'd break the set and also wanted to wish you luck on the sale. They do look very nice.
