Question for all of y'all, if in the glove box all I saw a GT5 which is 3.73 correct and no other G number.... Then would that mean it has an eaton locker cause I thought eaton lockers were G80? I pulled it off a 98 hoe and the glove box of that one, all I was able to find was one G letter... Do the 97 hoes come with a eaton Detroit locker stock? Or no?

ITs not a detroit locker. The eaton locker otherwise known as the Gov lock is a limited slip. And if you dont have a G80 its an open diff. Jack up the rear and put it in nuetral then spin one tire. If the other tire spins the oposite direction its open. Or if you can spin one tire while the other is held still its open. Or you have a really worn limited slip.

Gt4 -- axle rear, 3.73 ratio
gt5 -- axle rear, 4.10 ratio
gu4 -- axle rear, 3.08 ratio
gu5 -- axle rear, 3.23 ratio
gu6 -- axle rear, 3.42 ratio

If it says GT5 it is a 4.10 make sure you get matching gears for the front axle.....4.10s are great for 285s or 33 inch tires.

My codes are GT4 and G80 so 3.73 and limited slip(gov locker)
