This seems like it would fight the torsion bars...

This wouldnt be for raising for lowering your truck, this would only help for ride quality...(matching the bags to the torsion bars)

Lets say you de-crank your torsion bars so that your tire is tucking...you'll do damage to your fender while you drive...if you add these though and fill them to raise the front end while you drive, I believe the bags will raise the truck fighting against the torsion bars...meaning not only are you supporting the weight of the front end...but your supporting the pressure of the torsion bar twist as well (since the bolt is adjusted for it to be at its lowest point for when parked or whatever)

eh... youre not counting on the weight of the truck torquing the torsion bars...

When your truck is sitting on the ground at whatever height the torsion bars are "loaded" meaning if you could look at them they are torqued and actually TRYING to make the truck sits higher than it is.. but just like any spring it sits at the level its capable of holding it at.. like if you jack the front of your truck up at the frame.. and the truck goes up but the wheels stay on the ground.. and the truck looks kinda lifted.. that is where the springs are "unloaded"

So everywhere in the spectrum between "loaded" and "unloaded" the torsion bars are providing X amount of energy to lift the vehicle... with X being greater the harder you push down on the truck.. because of the spring becoming more loaded

and ZERO load/lift... being when the torsion bar is unloaded.. which is about the point where when you jack it up by the frame the wheels come off the ground..

This is why when you replace your keys.. you have to have the front end up and the torsion bar unloaded....

Sooooooo

A bag setup like this will basically use the lift that the torsion bar is already providing..
to help it do its job.. so his bag will need lets say 75 psi.. to do what it takes someone elses 125 (random numbers)

the upper bag mounts are weld on. $699 from airbagit.com includes everything in the picture. the tech support guy said they sell a real low torsion key so i can tuck the 26s when its aired out with the bars still in.

FYI stay away from chassis tec or shAIM.. basically they are the dollar store for air ride parts...http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/street/137429-chassis-tech-aim-products.html

And btw that kit is nothing new. bags over the upper control arms has been done may times to keep the front half shafts. The only problem is you can't ride it low b/c you can damage the shaft from sever CV angles.

thanks adam, thats the first ive heard about AIM being ******. i didnt really research the company. im gonna have to do some more research on a new place to get airride parts from
