I would jump all over the $100 offer to fix dashboard. Since I am past 100K miles, I was told to bend over and take in the rear like most others!

I received a call from GM Customer Service yesterday. They explained that due to my Tahoe being a 2010 with 85k+ miles, they could sell me the new installed dashboard for $500. However, they told me that if I called my local dealer, who sold me the truck new in 2010, and who has handled the recalls, brakes, tranny flush and sells me tires at a great price, that the dealer would be willing to sell me the new dash installed for $300. Good enough for me. My only problem with GM's attitude is that this should be a recall item, but won't since it isn't Safety related, and the cost would get their attention. Considering that the Tahoe has been as trouble free as my Honda Pilot, with only normal wear items like brakes and tires, and the two small GM recalls, I can accept spending $300 on it every two to three years. Good Luck!

I noticed the crack near the airbag cover on the passenger side the other day. Stopped by the dealer who took one look and said "no problem-GM will do it for the $100 deductible." Truck is a 2010 with 132K miles. Interestingly, the wife's 08 Tahoe hasn't cracked (yet).

It's going in tomorrow....dealer says 1/2 day to complete and they are giving me a courtesy car to drive.

I see you're in Atlanta. Care to pm me the dealer for when mine eventually cracks?

I'm curious if the deductible varies by State/Dealer and if ALL dealers are aware that GM is offering to replace cracked dashboards for a nominal fee.

All GM dealers know of the program. The cost is $100 for the 1st time, adjusted for the vehicles age and mileage thereafter.

I had a pleasant surprise when I took the Tahoe in for the $300 dashboard replacement. The tech found one of the A/C vents cracked, and replaced it along with the dash. Went to pay the bill and received a receipt that stated "WARRANTY-No Charge" on it :)
Nice way to say Merry Christmas!
May you have such good fortune.......Amanda

What is all this I'm reading? So GM is taking care of this for 100 to 300 bones, depending on where you live?

I don't think it matters where you live. More, who you complain to and how your dealer treats its customers. GM knows it has a problem, they just don't seem to desire a recall, not that you should be surprised by that. Cosmetics don't have a safety appeal.
