Front diff breather spitting oil

I changed the fluid in the front differential this weekend and cleaned out the breather hose as well. The service manual states it takes 1.83 quarts and I got about 2 quarts out of it and it was pretty dark. I refilled and with what was left in the bottles afterwards I got within a couple ounces of the 1.83 quarts to avoid overfilling. After taking the truck to town and back (30 minutes one way) I checked the breather and it had some oil on it again but not as bad as it usually is and no drips on the garage floor this time however it was colder out and I didn't go over 70mph.

I need to change my front differential fluid too. Is 1.83 quarts the oil capacity on all tahoe/Yukon with 4X4 differential and what type gear oil can I use?
