AWD, 2002 Denali.

Grinding sound from front end, metal shavings in front diff and movement of the front left axle. I need a new front differential. Might be able to just replace the bearing but want to find a rebuilt or used one.

Anyone have a good source?

The GMC part number 24228426 and a google search finds remanufactured ones for about 1400.00 bucks... Yikes!

Thanks!!

You can get ring and pinion sets for around $200 and master kits for about $80. Then just pay for the labor.

if you get the parts lined up, drop the diff (pretty easy to do) and take it to any good shop. they should be able to knock it out while you wait if you set up a time with them before hand. someone who really knows how to do it and do it pretty quickly.
