Front struts for 2015 Yukon Denali

2015 Yukon Denali, Both of my front struts have gone out with fluid leaking from both. What caused this? Does anyone know of a decent aftermarket strut that’s at least comparable to the original strut. The gm strut is over $600 a piece.
