plugged it up and put car into reverse and it wouldnt show up on the display. From what I can tell I need a harness of some sort is what I have been reading for it to work on my 07 escalade. My 07 has every option so figured it would work. took the chance to just plug it up and hope it worked but it didnt and the wife told me to stop messing with it....she hates her sisters in the equinox so I wont be installing it. Price is negotiable.

This will NEVER just work.

07-08 must purchase all the wiring ($70ish)

09+ some came pre-wired and if so, you just need a $30 plug, basically, just the video input plug

09+ if it didn't come pre-wired, you basically need all the wiring ($70ish)


The only way this would just work, is if you already have it in your vehicle and working, but maybe the glass broke or some pixels went bad.





If I'm wrong, I'll edit/delete my post. But I wanted to do this to my 07 and it was gonna cost more than I wanted to spend for it. I'm not trying to kill your post, but just advice to you, and to whomever might be thinking of purchasing it.

I plugged it in and it powered on without a problem. Just no display or signal for video would work. The plug itself I can get very inexpensive from GM. just need the part numbers. My escalade is wired completely with back-up cam navigation and so forth so thats why I figured I could try it. I know I can probably figure it out but since the wife hates her sisters I wasnt going to install it.
