Fuel Gauge Issue

Hey guys, got a 2001 GMC Yukon V8 here, the issue I'm having is that the fuel gauge constantly sticks on "low fuel" even if the tanks full. Could this be the level sensor going bad or something else? All help is greatly appreciated!

Might be the stepper motor behind the gauge. Common issue.

Might be the stepper motor behind the gauge. Common issue.

How might I go about repairing that or testing it? I've been hearing the whole pump has to be replaced to fix the floater/ sensor and I honestly don't think it's worth doing just to fix the floater.
