Fuel Tank Issue

I've replaced both fuel pumps and the gauge is working fine now, it wasn't too bad of a job just a bit time consuming. I haven't filled it up yet($115), but I'm hoping the non working sending unit was causing the aux tank to overflow and causing my issue.
