So i made a thread in the general the other day about the truck i was buying and the issue with the fuel gauge, well they replaced the pump assembly, and the gauge is working, but only half the time

is there a ground on the frame or something that could be loose thats causing this issue still, or what should i be looking for to fix this problem

i'd rather not drivew to the dealer again cause its around 45 mins away if this is a simple fix

but any help or thoughts would be appreciated

its an 03 z71

I would guess you have issues with the gauge itself in the cluster. It is pretty common for the stepper motors to go out and begin acting funny as well. While not the EASIEST fix, you can take the cluster apart and replace the stepper motor yourself if you are so inclined.
