Fuel injection service

My Dealer says I’m due for fuel injection service @ 30,000 mi. We never discussed price or what they do. Is this necessary? 5.3 engine.

It's mostly a profit center for the dealership. Echlin hooked up directly to the fuel rail does clean injectors very well though and can help those engines that are fed a steady diet of low quality fuel. Chevron's Techron in the little bottles is also very good at cleaning the injectors.

As @OR VietVet and @swathdiver stated above. I use a large container (for 20+ gallons of gasoline) of Chevron Techron from the local auto parts store in my gas tank every 3 months. I've never had an injector service done.
