Fuel Injector cleaning???

When I took my 16 Yukon in for an oil change in April at 34K miles, the dealer recommended a fuel injector cleaning. Going in for an oil change and tire rotation at the end of the week, have close to 40K, is this something I should have them do or is it a dealer hosing? Anything else you all would recommend at this point for service?

Probably not. If you're gas mileage has not fallen off it's not necessary. It's not even mentioned in your owner's manual. But check the back of your manual as the 45K services are coming up, lots of fluids and filters to be changed depending on how you figure you drive your truck.

Read the whole chapter but the charts are on pages 347 and 349. If your manual is missing you can easily download it from GM via a quick google search.

certainly couldn't hurt, the shop I like to go to has a tool to inject cleaner right into the fuel rail, but at 34k it might not do anything noticeable

When I used to do this to my performance cars, the product GM used was called Echlin and was about the size of a can of lysol or bug spray. We hooked it up to the fuel rail and let the engine run on that til empty, worked good, kept the injectors in top form.

This is a service advisor trying to make that extra comission. I'm not saying injectors don't get dirty but a vehicle with only 34k running tier 1 fuel likely doesn't need this. You can dump a bottle of Techron in the tank at the next fill up if you think something needs to be done.

Anyone using BG44K? Haven't tried it in the Hoe yet but have used it in many cars.

Amsoil P-i. None better. My '12 Tahoe with 100k, mileage was terrible. Had a hesitation. Ran two tanks of Chevron Techron with no change. Then two tanks of Sea Foam. Still no improvements. Two tanks of Amsoil P-i changed all that. Mileage went up and the acceleration came back. Will never use anything else. Putting some in my '17 with 28k next payday as a preventative.
