Has anyone ever heard of fuel injectors spraying in the wrong order? Is this actually a thing or is the dealership making this up??

Is it possible yes probability of it happening without really stupid exterior intervention or someone trying to sabotage your truck. Since its posted in the 2000-2006 section each injector has its own plug. You would have to cut and splice more wire into most of them to plug it into a different injectors. You could also reprogram it for a different spray order but why? So in my opinion unless jesus came down and felt like playing a joke on you or someone really hates you. You have a different problem.

If nothing else has been tampered with via wiring or programming, they are blowing smoke up your ass lol. If that is your only code there are other explanations.

They said that the fuel injectors were spraying out of order, and that they reprogrammed it for the correct spraying order...

Only way I could see that happening, is you had a tune on your truck. Other than that, I see no way of that happening.

I happened to be talking to my buddy (gm master tech). I mentioned it to him and he laughed and said that doesn't make any sense.

That doesn't just "happen". You would seriously have to try to screw up the fuel injector order!

That's a load of crap. The injectors fire based off the same sensor that the coils use to fire. P0300 just means that you have a misfire but the ECM is unsure which cylinder(s) it(they) is(are).

Must be a newbie tech at the dealer. I'd take it back and ask for a senior tech to look at it free of charge.
