Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacment

Replacing the FPR on 99 Tahoe. Got all the bolts out and fuel lines undone. Fuel lines won't come loose. Any ideas would be appreciated. Do I need to take them loose from the top of the intake? Intake is loose, just won't move and I am not real sure about prying anywhere.

hardware holding fuel line bracket in back of engine. and the little bracket holding the front part to the fuel body. one other thing if this isd the original injector installed at the factory. replace the whole unit with the redesigned unit which includes the fpr. http://www.amazon.com/Delphi-FJ10566-Fuel-Injector/dp/B000TYLIFS

also when removing the plenum the oval oring around the fuel body to seal the against the plenum might make it sticky to get the plenum off if ALL the hardware is off.

Ok, so I need to remove the fuel line bracket on top of the plenum. Those puppies are tight also. I removed it first then when that didn't work put the bracket and nuts back on. I replaced the wires, plugs, cap and rotor when I first bought the thing and they were all original, so I would guess that the spider is original also.

FYI, just checked Parts Geek and found the Delphi spider for $243 and free shipping.

if you can get it cheaper that is good just make sure it has the new bracket when you get it. may also need to get this kit if all the original gaskets it would not hurt. www.amazon.com/dp/B000C2GE6K/

there is a hold downs on the front and rear of those metal lines.

while we are at it if all original are you up for changing the lower intake gasket at all will need a different kit but if still factory it is strongly recommended would add about 110 more.

Thanks for that info. Might as well do it all while it's apart. I did get the gasket kit for the upper already so I can just get the lower or use sealant. That has worked as well in the past. Thanks for your help.

Uh, no! Dont you dare it more complicated then that get this kit http://www.amazon.com/Fel-Pro-MS90131-2-Manifold-Gasket-Set/dp/B000C2GE8I/ and new intake bolts http://www.amazon.com/Fel-Pro-ES72224-Engine-Intake-Manifold/dp/B0039SOMUE/ you will understand when you see it. Alsoat least one valve cover will need to come off to get manifold off but I reccomend both so as not to disturb the sealant used in front and back of block valley walls. Felpro makes a molded rubber one. Don't forget to drain coolant before pulling lower manifold.

Didn't mean to sound like I would forget the metal gaskets I was speaking only of using sealant on the front and back as I have used the rubber gaskets and they have leaked.

New challange.

The ones at the front and back of the intake were the ones that leaked at the corners. So I just used hi temp loctite and it worked.

Another question. I'm sure no one with any mechanical ability has ever done this. I am putting the spider in and You guessed it I have switched one of the injectors. Is there a special tool to remove these spiders from the hole? My thin screw driver wont get down along the edge???
