Well my best guess is it was light brown from no fuel instead of darker brown from fuel being burned.

I just found a case study :http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/gm/4.3L-5.0L-5.7L/spider-fuel-injector-misfire-case-study-1

that kinda explained what was happening. Not sure I can do all of those tests that he's performed, though I thought I would at least remove the injector and turn the key on and see if it's spraying constantly or not. I'm not having any trouble starting and the plug isn't wet. I contacted partsgeek and they cannot send a specific injector, I have to take the whole thing off and get a new one. But I wanted to at least have an idea before I did all this if it's really the spider or something else.

Mystery solved

Started pulling the intake back off and pulled the wiring harness off from the top of the fuel spider. Looked down and saw a bent wire that I hadn't seen before. Straightened it and reassembled what bolts I had removed. Removed codes and started it. No Misfire.
Thanks for all your help. Now on to the xfercase or front ujoints which ever it is.
