Welcome to the forum.

There should only be two hose connections on the fuel pump. One is supply which has a hose from the pump itself and the other is return which has nothing connected to it. You can see this in the photo below.

well on my 2008 tahoe lt there are 3 hose connectors on top and 2 in the tank.undoubtedly they changed the pump midyear because mine was made in 2008 and it came with a bosch 2008 fuel pump.you can find replacement pumps from bosch and delphi with this config.but i cant find any info on the in tank hookups.

I thought I a photo of the correct pump for a 2008 flex-fuel, but it must have been a generic photo. Sorry about that.

After your post I did some more looking and yes, there should be 3 connections on top. I should have known this since I had to replace the pump on my 2007. That being said, when I replaced the pump, I didn’t need to make an connections inside the tank, just the ones to the top of the unit. That begin said I believe the only port that has anything attached on the inside is the fuel supply line. The EVAP and the fuel return should be open on the inside of the tank.

Again, if you’re replacing the completed unit, you should only have to make connections to the outside of the pump.
