Because it's free. But I was thinking the same thing and went to the junk yard fishing for 14 bolt. I saw two. One was a 8 lug on a gmc safari van. The others was from a gmc work truck think it was a semi float. The only bad thing is I don't know now many miles or condition of this diff

whats physically blown up on the rearend in the truck with 240??? Doesnt seem like it was taken care of needing a rebuild on the tranny now a new rearend.

a 14 bolt is not just going to drop on in of your standard 10bolt. Requires moving perches, shock crap, possibly some driveshaft modifications etc etc.

Who knows what condition it's in. It's a clean looking hoe. But a cooler kid owns it now so he could ragged it out. But I was think if he put $800 worth of tires and repair the trans it must be worth something. He in college so he ran out of money to repair the rear diff. All I know is it's the best deal I've seen so far(not saying it's a good deal). I saw a hoe about .5 mile from my house and it was abused!! It need a total interior swap. He was asking $2k and it had bad tires and 240k miles. I know if your not willing to wash and vacuum your suv your not going to pull maintenance. IMO!! But I'll keep looking!!! Thx for the reply!!
