G4 Hyperblinking: will this fix it?

So I'm having some hyper blinking on my left side only. I know I need to replace the black box that came with the G4s with a bigger resistor. Will this one work?

No, that thing will be red hot in a few seconds. Spend the money on a real load resistor, they're not that expensive.

Those taps splice into the wires leading to the bulb, one on each side. Think of it as wiring it in like the bulb itself.
