I just got my G4 tails yesterday but I am a little confused on how to install the 6ohm 2 bulb load resistor I got from v-leds.

http://www.v-leds.com/BlinkerWarning-Fix/Turn-Signal-Fix/6-OHM-50W-2-BULB-LED-p4783296-1-2.html

It looks like the G4 already has a load resistor. I think it is that little black box that hangs off by itself (see pic). So I am wondering, do I remove that and install the 6ohm resistor? Where does the 6ohm resistor go? I read that the resistor gets hot so do I need to mount it somewhere? Thanks for your help.

The G4's all ready have the resistor, which is the black box you are looking at. You will not need another resistor. G4's are plug and play

You can wire the lights without actually installing them, just set them (on a towel) on the ground, unplug your factory lights, and plug these in. they 'should' be plug and play, but you can test them before you swap them... the wiring is right on the back corners and very easy to disassemble. of course the lights are only 2 screws each, so its not that hard anyway... the key must be in RUN to work the turn signals to test for the fast flash...

Thanks. I thought I read on another thread that the resistors that came with the G4s weren't enough and that 6-7ohm resistors needed to be installed.

You did read that, and it's true (or, can be true). I've found that when my battery gauge reads below 14 amps, I'll get the fast blink -- and that's with the factory, black block resistors.

I, too, would like to know whether the additional resistors need to be put in-line with the factory one, or whether they replace the factory ones, and just how it's done either way.

I did not add additional resistors on my G4's and I have never had any issues. But, it can't hurt wiring them in if you all ready purchased them

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I just got my first 2010 Yukon SLT and I would like to start doing some mod on it. The first mod is to change out the tail light to LED tail light.

Can you please tell me where do you guys get your G4 LED light from? I've search on the Internet and most of the reliable places only carry G3, there isn't many places that sale G4.

There's no known difference between the two. I have what was called the G3s, and others here have the G4s, and there appear to be no differences at all.
