Anyone know if you can sync the built in door opener with out using the remote for the over head opener.

Ive missed placed the remote for the garage door opener and im wondering if there is a way to program the truck with just the overhead part.

All that I have found on google is syncing with the clicker only, although im positive I programmed my SS Trailblazer without the remote but doesn't seem to work on the caddy.

I programmed mine through the garage door opener itself. Pressed the little button on the back then pressed the one in the truck. done!

It depends on the type of built-in opener you have. The newer Homelink openers only require you to press the learn button on the garage opener and then hold the button inside your truck, done deal.

Others require you sync up with the signal from the remote. And before you go out and buy one of the "universal" remotes from the Home Depot don't bother because when you hold the button down on a lot of those they stop transmitting the signal after a few seconds and it's not enough time to sync up. You will most likely need the factory replacement remote.

Ill have to look it up but both the tbss and the esky are the same year so I assumed they were the same.

It depends more on the type of opener, not the homelink.

IF anyone has programmed before , you will have a stored code.
IF your home opener has a rolling code, use the learn on the back of the opener usually by the remote wire.....then use the trucks stored code and wallaa......

if it has never been programmed, you will need a remote to produce needed signals.

X1 - Did it exactly like that as well.

Did you guys have to press them simultaneously or hit the over head unit then the truck?

Pretty sure I did it that way in the tbss.

Right now I press the two outside buttons on the homelink until it rapid flashes then press the button on the overhead unit then while the over head is flashing (releasing a signal) I then press the button I want to be the button for the door.

I did mine without the remote, but out of the 10 different times I've reprogrammed through the years of owning the truck I'd say half of them reprogrammed right away and the other half took quite a bit of trying to get it to stick!

what happens if somebody breaks into your vehicle and opens your garage while your sleeping, it would be different if it was a code ,not a one button push to open the door...
