I just did 2200 miles NM to NoCal and back with 21.7 MPG and 65 average speed. My best was between Gallup and ABQ with 25,6 MPG and 72 average. Love the ride and power. 2017 Yukon XL. I seem to get better mileage with cruise control set to 80.

My 2016 Denali routinely gets 25 mpg at 65 mph on regular gas on interstate highways; higher speeds, lower mileage. I also regularly tow a 7500 gvw rv, with that I normally get between 12 and 15 mpg.

Here’s a bit of data. A couple weeks ago, we ran from So Cal to Oregon for Christmas, averaging 22.5 MPG at mostly sea level. We just ran up 395 to Mammoth (4000’ most of the way) and mileage was 20.5 even with a lighter car and more moderate speeds. This is opposite my old Trailblazer, whose mileage increased on the Mammoth run.

Do folks notice a difference in mileage between driving in Auto vs. 2 WD?

Well after 2+ weeks of solid snow driving mostly in Auto, my mileage on my 19 6.2 Suburban has dropped to 12.3 mpg. Temp has been 98% below freezing as well.

My driving is almost exclusively in town and short trips. My overall average in just under 10k miles is about 13.25 mpg.

I don't see how auto start would affect anything, it does not make one iota of a difference on my 2012 other than hours on the engine

Generally when you use remote start, you are leaving the engine warm up which in turn burns gasoline and lowers your overall MPG if it's calculated in and some tests have shown that leaving your engine idling will reduce the life expectancy.
