Gas tank size for the NNBS Tahoe/Yukons

Every were I look it states the all the the NNBS tahoes and yukons have a 26 gallon gas tank. When my low gas icon pops up I fill up and it only takes 21 gallons. If my reserve has enought to go 30 miles that would be like 2 more gallons. With all that said that only adds up to 23 gallons, were are the other 3? Can some one help me answer this mystery.

Maybe the reserve is more than 30 miles/2gallons. I don't know the answer but I'd like to know as well.

Most reasonable explanation is that the reserve is more than 2 gallons. Only way to find out is to run it dry or nearly dry.

My yukon xl denali which is listed around 29 gallon tank takes 25 when empty. So 4/5 gallon reserve.
