My gear selector on my 02 Denali is loose. Sometimes when I put it in park, I have to push it back to its original position manually in order to be able to take the key out. I have to wait until the "P" is highlighted. I know there is a fix for anything, but is this someone of an easy fix? I haven't taken it apart or anything but I would guess there is some time of spring or mechanism in it that has gone bad. Thanks in advance.

Mine as well. Local shop says it;s the spring inside he shifter. Required the dash to be removed. No idea if this is true of not.

I just took the black boot off. It was all trashed and ripped. There looks like there is a little yellow spring in there. Its in 3 pieces. Calling the dealership and seeing if I can order a new spring. How to put it back in I have no idea lol. How much you want to bet this little 1/2" spring costs $100 lol. Ill keep you posted.
