If I want to race I borrow my wife's F-150 Ecoboost, that baby will roll. 360hp - 420torque I already outran a 3/4 ton with a 6.0

Those Ecoboost F150's that quick? My LQ4 can pull pretty decent for stock with 4.10's even if it weighs 6-7k lbs. But that's pretty good for the Ecoboost if it can run with the 6.0s

Ecoboost F150s usually hit around 6 seconds in a 0-60 sprint! About what the Tundra double cab does with its 5.7L V8.

first off if your regearing dont even consider gas mileage , thats like smoking pot and not expecting to get high. anytime you upgear your mileage will drop i dont care what engine and drivetrain its mated with second IMO 4.56 is a good gear and is best IMO 4.88 is a bit much for a DD either way you have to pay to play

Out of respect for the OP, I don't want to hyjack this thread, but I will say they are really impressive. I tell anyone who has doubts, go to your local Ford dealership and test drive one. Even if you don't intend on buying, go test drive one, the salesmen don't have anything else to do anyway. I really enjoy wasting their time.

re-gear for $2700 but do it while your front suspension is crapped out. good priorities.

Now Sun, that hurts, that really hurts. Fortunately, after working my tail off for years I'm now in a position financially that I can afford some frivolous spending. You want to see the front end repair bill, thats another horror story.

Don,

I have to agree, I considered the 4.88's but the Off-Road shop talked me out of it and I'm glad they did. With about 50% wear, my 315/70R17 BFG AT's only stand 32 3/4" tall not the 34.3" that the tire conversion formula tells you and that is with 50psi.

Evidently the gear ratio charts are based on what the tire measurement should be and not reality size. So with 32 3/4" actual size I'm running 2300rpm at 70mph, I'm probably going to go up one tire size to 325/70R17 when I replace them this fall just to get the rpm's down a little. I've got plenty of power now compared to what I was used to and there's alway more performance mods I can do.

unknown at this time.
i don't doubt it mine as it stands right now is at least one upper ball joint Which I think a shop will do tomorrow with a Moog one sitting in my truck. but the kicker is all my bushings are cracked and old. I have an energy suspension kit for the whole chassis including body mounts in cali right now but it is not going to be cheap to install. 4wdparts quoted me about $600 for the whole kit install labor i think.

What the off-road shop saw wasn't all of it. Ended up having to change inner and outer tie rods, idler, pitman arm, 1 upper ball joint and alignment. Little over a $1000 if I remember right. Guy that I bought it from was so proud of himself for installing the lift by himself, sure wish he knew how to use a grease gun. Wasn't expecting the front end work, but hey, the Hoe is dang near new now. Drives like a dream and has plenty of power with the new gears. When I get the black Hoe sold it'll be performance mod time.
