So........I was able to get another set of 18 x 8.5 chevy rims with p265/65/r18 on them for really cheap. (Set 2) They are exactly the same as the wheels/tires I have in question. ( set 1)

This morning I mounted the newer set of rims and tires (set 2) and took it for a test drive. To my amazement and shock there was no vibration At any speed! So yes these gen 4 rims fit on gen 2 tahoe no problem. And my issue is solved, just need a new set of tires!

And defintly sometging is up.with (set 1 ) tires. They look fine on the outside, even had the tire shops say there in good shape. But none of the shops said a word about separating or out of round when I mentioned the vibration. Of course I can't say exactly until.i get them off but since I've got the exact duplicate rims /tire setup on at the moment and no issues. I'd have to.agree with dantheman and tires (set1)are the issue. I'll post a picture with the 2018 rims on my truck (set 2 alloy), and a picture of the cracks in the (set1 matte black) rim. The cracks I'm pointing to are not on any of the other rims at that location on the rim.20211207_171417.jpg
