so this lead me to a tech 2 question. I have a clone. what does a genuine one do a clone won't?
Nothing that I have found... Only differences I have seen are individual unit based and have to do with quality of connectors and a couple complaints about logo being off center or pixelized during boot-up. Also read one that genuine CANdi wasn't working and one where the LED light on a genuine CANdi had stopped working...
Wondered where you went. Glad all is well apart from your phones! Nice to have you back.
I don't think anyone's keeping score around here. I know I just come here because I love helping others, I learn new things every day that have nothing to do with politics, and it's a great bunch of people I enjoy being in community with. And your questions and participation here have led to others tackling challenges that they otherwise wouldn't have, because your posts live in perpetuity. So don't beat yourself up.Felt a little guilty too though....felt like I've taken a little more from the pot than I've put in to this point?
Yes! Well said. It's the pleasure of finding things out that leads to the joy of getting things done, that leads to a better quality of life for us and the people we love. This is hard maybe to put to words, but there is NOT MUCH ON EARTH more empowering than being able to fix things or make things better, more efficient, more practical, easier to use, more durable and on and on....and as this journey progresses from reading a dipstick to reading a dial caliper so does the knowledge base, aptitude, problem solving, and confidence....and it carries over to other parts of life. On an individual basis, one could make a strong case for applying the word 'priceless'
Wow! This is what I mean about our posts living in perpetuity and we have no idea who we may have helped or what ripples we send into the universe. We went up to Star Lake southwest west of Pittsburgh for a Tyler Childers show, pulling the camper. It was that trip that convinced me I needed a beefier rig if I was going to tow a 7500 lb camper with 2-4 kids (our 2 plus their friends), and an 85 lb dog. On that trip and on a few others, I was over the payload limit and that's when the rear suspension compressor failed.Ironically I was researching transmission oil temps and coolers and the bypass/flip and basically just continuing my education and preparation to rebuild my 6L80 myself....and from a www search one of the top results was a thread on here from earlier this month where you said something like --you towed over the spine of Appalachian Mountains through WV (if I'm remembering correctly) right before and right after the 4th?-- I nudged Amanda and said "look honey Dave drove right by us last week and didn't even honk" she had no clue what I was talking about lol... We were only a few miles from the Sandstone Exit the week before the 4th at a friends cabin w/4 of my buddies, wives, and kids... Glad you're well also my man! Talk to you soon
The power supply inside the unit is inferior. @Doubeleive explained it in another thread. When using a clone and you have to start the engine it will reboot unless you have an external power source plugged into it. An authentic Tech2 will not.
