Got my key online for my caddy. 10 bucks , cut for 2 bucks at my local hardware store (which happened to have the key in stock btw) programming involved putting my originally key in then turning the ignition then immediately turning it off and putting in the new key and turning again. Worked like a charm. Also bought an extra remote off eBay for 40 bucks. So I have 3 sets of working keys for my 2010 escalade. One "work" set, "off day" set, and spare for when my brother or wife needs to move the car..

Do you have to program or re-program all keys at once or can I just add one new key as needed?

I believe you have to do them all at once.

I think Walmart now offers this service. I have no idea if it is a good deal, but I'd bet real money that it is cheaper than a dealership. I don't know if GM is supported, but many makes are.

That's the issue. This is a work truck, but I want a spare and they wont provide one so I have bought it on my own. If I program it my existing key and my new key will work fine, but what about the key that is in the lock box back at the fleet management, will they still work?

I cant find the answer on google. I have emailed the place I bought the key and they haven't replied yet.

Walmart won't do chipped keys because some people try to start thei car with it and they told me some trash about how it can break and they can get sued or something like that

What? I thought the point of the key is to use? Couldn't they get sued then if any key broke? I would assume they would need to tell the person it would only work for door until they had it programmed.
