Buy a tuner. The tuners will save your original ECM and transmission programming before uploading a power or economy tune, or changing anything. When you go to the dealer, just upload the saved stock file. It only takes a minute. When the vehicle is back then upload whatever you want again.

When I took my hoe in recently for a tire monitoring sensor issue I ask if there was any reason I couldn't put my dic in the dash. The tech said I would loose function on the button dic. Some techs really don't know what they don't know.

My hoe is a little older, but remember that your DIC is just a series of buttons, My DIC was just plug and play, and I gained full functionality of all the options. and you are right, they don't know something unless they try it out. my guess is pull the panel and plug your DIC into the wiring harness first and see if it works.

I did. That's one of the first things I did. I grabbed my dic and stuck it in the dash. It allowed me to access a lot more of my hoe.

Hi everyone,

I’m a civilian and recently just pursched a 2015 PPV and was wondering if there will be any issues getting my PPV serviced through the dealership.

I heard that Chevy will wipe out the ECM (computer) which contains the police program, resetting it to a civilian Tahoe setting and if this happens they will not reset it back if you aren’t a fleet buyer/agency/LEO. This means my Tahoe would essentially be a regular one.

Is this true?

Part of the reason I purchased a PPV was for the performance enhanced features.

Good luck with that. They will just tell you to take your business elsewhere, nobody wants to deal with anyone that silly.

There are no 'performance' enhancements to a PPV or SSV tune that's any different from a civilian Tahoe.

This. And the same is true for the old Crown Vics marked as Police Interceptor----much to the chagrin of youngsters who think they have a leg up on 'civilian' Tahoes/Crown Vics since they bought a cop car.

yes put on any Tahoe.. you will also need the cop rear diff as well 3:08..

There are no 'performance' enhancements to a PPV or SSV tune that's any different from a civilian Tahoe. The only 'performance' enhancement could be the speed limiter, but that's set depending on the speed rating the tires had when the truck rolled off the assembly line. Usually, what you get is things turned off, like interior lights, auto-on lighting, and so forth.

There will be no issues with service. There shouldn't be, anyway. We've had our '10 PPV and '12 9C1 in to the local dealership for the recalls, and no one asks any odd questions.

I took my Chevy Tahoe ssv for a recall and they swapped my cooling fan out for a regular LS one.
