I probably wouldn't sell either. That's a huge loss. But I would have put a reserve, so then I wouldn't have been in that situation.

Did you know Ebay employees are allowed to get on there and do as they please? If you knew the half of Ebay and Paypal you wouldn't have even made this thread. LOL

Maybe I'm missing something here. You purchased, got a full refund and a message saying item no longer available. I must have mistaken ur post for paid, no refund and item no longer available. I don't see a problem here, except an item that should have been taken off the site but wasn't until they tried to process an order and realize it's out of stock. Like I said I might be missing something

Used wheels, the seller hasn't sold anything since January 09.
Out of stock? no he knows what he has, also provided me with 8 new pictures.
He didn't like the low selling price, and figured he'd be ok saying what the big ebay stores say 'no longer available for sale', this was a no reserve auction.
I've been waiting for some wheels close enough to pick up, these where the first I found in months of looking, I know 'local pick up' items usually sell cheap.

Got it bro. Its amazing the things that go on. Hope they didn't get sold and you lok elsewhere so he's out of a sale period. Isn't there a place locally that buys and sells used tires/wheels in ur area. I sold my stockers before moving here to a local vendor. Got lowballed of course but I had no use for them and didn't want to haul the to GA with me.

Not for nothing, but before I'd plink down any money I would have checked out his history, It was like he dropped off the map for about a year. If your going to buy off ebay, go for a steady eddie that shows a lot of product movement. Have you checked craigs list. There should be a wealth of rims from vehicles upgraded in the Philly / Jersey area

Amen. I've put old hockey equipment up there, a lot of the stuff worth as much or more than a set of rims. Had a pair of $1000 pads got for $250 once because I didn't set the reserve. Was pissed, but my fault - no reserve. Let them go. Also had a $100 helmet go for $300 because guys went nuts over the thing.

I'm sorry to hear that the seller did not stick with the original selling price. Leave him negative feedback, it's all you can do. I wouldn't even wait the 2 weeks. Plus, doesn't eBay not allow sellers to leave negative feedback anymore except to non-payers?

I check craigs list all the time in a 100 mile radius which includes Philly and Baltimore. I'm near Manheim Auto Auction in Manheim, PA, http://www2.manheim.com/locations/one of the largest in the country. Auto dealers come from all over the country, no accessories go for cheap. A guy on craigs list had the same style wheels, I thought I could lowball him with an offer, when I went to look at them it turns out he deals in wheels, didn't bother with giving an offer.
The only thing I can get cheap here is auto transport, many car carriers come empty and leave full.
Past rates for cars I had transported here are;
Chicago to Manheim $500
Brick, NJ to Manhein $200

Do you use a Craigslist search engine to check that big of a radius? I use www.searchtempest.com for when I am searching more than one town at a time, it works pretty good, even will search Ebay as well!!

You guys do realize that eBay is an auction site, not an online store. The sellers have plenty of options to protect themselves, from setting a reserve to setting a higher starting price. Writing a good description and adding key words help people find your item. Just because you post somethings doesn't mean it is going to sell for more than retail.

It is pretty ****** to cancel an auction because you did not get what you wanted for the item.
