I just bought one a few weeks back and it is an instant rebate. The only difference with it being cash back is that the tax is calculated before that amount is deducted. And it can not be combined with any other offers like the GM supplier etc. Keep in mind that that money is coming from GM so you can still negotiate with the dealer to get more money off. Good luck.

when i got my tahoe a couple months ago, i was able to stack a GM supplier discount with a $3500 + $1000 rebate the dealer had. I got an LTZ 4wd for about $10k off total. Listed at $67 and got it for roughly $57k + tax. $62k total I believe, i can check those figures. I was very happy when the dealer called me about the rebates, i was not expecting that. But I had 2 dealers I was working to try and get the best deal, it really paid off.

Last week I picked up a brand new 2016 suburban LTZ, optioned out to $78,056 and I was able to get it for $60,900.. That's about 22% off of msrp...The thing is, that these sales don't last long, maybe 2-3 days, then it goes away and each dealership usually only tags one car at a time with this type of deal..
