Just received a couple of websites from GM Customer Service, where one can obtain information/history on a GM Vehicle based on the VIN#. Thought I would pass on the info:

NO, it is all the factory codes that were used while producing the vehicle plus more. (I did not check the whole sites out yet).

The reason I inquired was because my sticker with all the codes in the glove compartment is missing. I inquired with the local GM Dealer but as usual, if they can not sell you anything, you fall on deaf ears. I therfore decided to call GM and they provided me with these websites. For 50 bucks you can have all the paint and trim codes printed up and send to you.

But again, I did not study all this in detail as of yet. Hope that explains it.

No, they were not going to print that for me.

OK, found out that an old friend of mine went to the local GM Dealer and is a Service Advisor there.

Went there today and he did print out all the RP Option Codes for me as well as ALL Warranty History on my Rig. I have now a list of everything that GM did on this Truck during the 3 year/36K mile Warranty Period.

And the BEST part is:
-----> My truck received a NEW FACTORY Transmission @ 53K miles. This means my tranny so far has barely 36K miles on it. YEAH BABY!
