They should make fun of me...I ended up giving GM another chance following my first repurchased Denali. In all seriousness, I was one of the first to have these issues and get my money back and at the time people did think I was nuts complaining about ear pressure and headaches. Now, it seems many others have experienced the same problem and GM has responded with multiple TSBs. I certainly feel vindicated but feel bad for so many other folks on this forum. Unfortunately, no one on this site or any other (to my knowledge) has experienced an overall "fix" with the latest TSBs.

Yes, Showtime I experienced the same problems of AJS. Don't wait around, get GM customer service involved immediately and don't back down. For some this vehicle is a dream (jealous of you guys, Humer). For others, it is an absolute nightmare.

Sorry for your troubles with the vehicle. The headaches and ear pressure were/are unbearable. Contact GMC customer service and request they open a claim/case number for your vehicle. They used to monitor this page and send you a PM with a case number already for you. I have not see them do that in a while...Call them immediately.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I purchased it used as it was a 7mos corp lease vehicle.

Jason - Let me ask you this...Did you ever end up driving one where you didn't notice the pressure/buffeting issue? I'm still trying to determine if it's just the way they are and all do it but not all folks are susceptible to it? I don't believe this is the case but thought I'd ask. I'm thinking the easiest solution rather than wasting a lot of my time is to find one that doesn't do it and trade it in and take s mall loss. I haven't done so , but I plan to go around and test drive a handful to compare.

For what it's worth, I have contacted the following news outlets recapping my story along with links to many others:

  • NY Times
  • Wall Street Journal
  • Car and Driver
  • MotorTrend
  • Road and Track
  • AutoWeek
  • Detroit Free Press
  • Automotive News
  • Jalopnik
  • autoguide.com
Added:
  • CarTalk
  • Consumer Reports
  • Automobile Magazine
Hopefully, someone will respond and we can get some pressure on GM to put some type of resolution out to the owners of these vehicles.

All the 2015 Denali's I drove seemed to have it. I Drove a 2016 Tahoe and it most definitely had the buffeting. Test drove a 2015 Escalade and it had the issue. My buddy just bought an Escalade a few weeks ago and I drove with him for an hour or so and I did not feel or hear anything. Thankfully, his seemed just fine. His was the first (and only) 2015 body design which I did not detect the buffeting and ear pressure. So, there are some out there...

From reading through all 10 pages let me ask a question.
It appears this happens when something causes the truck to vibrate being it AFM kicking on or wheels being unbalanced.
So with road force balancing and keeping the truck in manual mode does it erase the issue?

If so why not pay for a tune to disable the AFM? I did this on my G8 with AFM because I couldn't stand the droning and vibration with an aftermarket exhaust.

Just an idea that might be cheaper and easier than tearing into the roof and or selling the truck at a loss.

So anyone try this that is having issues?
It appears to be a vibration issue. Unbalanced wheels and/or AFM can cause it to happen.
Has anyone had their tires road force balanced and driven in manual mode?
I'm just curious to if this helps the issue.
