My new tahoe comes with 25% tin everywhere but the front sides. I want to get 25% on the front windows that looks extremely similar if not the exact same as the GM tint. Has anyone been able to find tint that matches up perfectly? would i just have to experiment? i really dont want to strip the entire car and run the cost up to hundreds of dollars.

The tint shop should match the tint up for you.

The tint shop put 20% on mine. It matches pretty good. I think it is just very slighly lighter.

I'd say that mine is perfect. As stated before, any reputable shop should have the tint that matches the GM tint perfectly.

i believe OEM tint is 18%. 20% is what iv'e done almost all my cars if i want to match OEM tint.

And even if you wanted to "strip" the OEM tint, you couldn't.

From what I've always heard, factory "tinting" is around 20%.

Now assuming your truck hasn't actually been tinted then what you are referring to is the factory smoked glass. What that means is that there is no tint or window film on the glass. It does nothing more for heat rejection or UV protection than the front windows do. All it is is darker glass which the factory refers to as "privacy glass" and I have never seen the factory refer to it as tinted.

So if you wanted to "strip" it you would have to replace the glass with clear glass.

Just go dark all the way around! I did Medium up front and Dark over the factory tint, I didn't want my front too dark as they trip here in Cali.

ok well i dont want to replace the glass, hopefully it matches up fine. i know its 25% cause it says 25% on the glass. i would never mix and match tint, ie have different percentages on different windows it looks horrible. tinting to front windshield...hmm. never seen that before. maybe a lighter tint would work for that if i wanted it
