GMC cai not for 6.2l

I just got off the phone with Chevy performance parts asking them to clarify if they're cold air induction/intake was approved for the 6.2 L and therefore a non-warranty issue item.
Some Chevy parts houses have it listed for the 6.2 L and not voiding the warranty.

The guy put me on hold for about five minutes and came back and said it is not approved for the 6.2 L and only approved for the 5.3 L and therefore said it is not a product that they would approve.
Silly because it fits.

I'll add to the confusion. I have it installed on my 16 Yukon XL Denali... purchased from a GMC dealer. They now show it not compatible for the 17 Yukon XL Denali but still compatible for the 16. Spoke with GM directly and they confirmed that to be as well. Makes me scratch my head and wonder if I should remove and get something else. Would just like more clarification since there is no difference between 16 and 17... to my knowledge at least.

Yeah. It's not listed approved for any year 6.2l.

I'll bring this pic to my local dealer and see if they will agree to sell it to me and then I'll be good with the warranty.

I don't want to deal with the "take your intake off" to have warranty work.
I don't have the spare time... (even if it only takes 20-30 mins each way)

I have a K&N CAI and have had warranty work done on my truck with no issues at all. I don't think you'd be asked to remove any CAI for work to be done unless they truly thought it was the cause of the issues.

Not sure if I believe the 6.2 needs it, but I had one on my old 5.3. Wouldn't be surprised if it has to due with the program issues and torque converter on the 8 speeds. They have shifting issues that I can only imagine would get worse, or pop up with the CAI. I may be wrong, but just had to have my torque converter replaced on a 16 Denali with 18k. Sounds like the 15s and early 16s, had the issues, but there are new ones out now.

I've wondered the same. I had the redesigned torque converter put in my '16 at just over 8k miles.

You would not have to take it off to have any warranty work done unless the CAI is part of the chain of events requiring the repair to be made. They cannot void your warranty over a CAI when you go in for a transfer case issue for example.

Awesome. Hundaus. I understand how the law is SUPPOSED to work.
The reality is a knock down drag out fight any time you need anything done and then should something happen there is a 50/50 chance that you will need to hire an attorney to navigate the small claims process in order to get them to comply.

Last time I checked for a small claims issue, the attorney wanted a $4k retainer to START.

So unless you have that spare cash sitting around it's a silly gamble.

I personally, being a medically disabled police officer, don't have the extra funds laying around to play games with.

It's a matter of the reality vs the utopia dream of the way it's supposed to be.
