Can you check that wire to ground and see if it has 12 V? If it doesnt, check it between the positive side of battery to that wire. If it then shows 12V we know its a ground. Seems like you said it was blowing fuses when it was touching ground so i suspect it would have 12V.

Battery isn't fully charged yet guess you couldn't find the wire in yours
