Well I don't have stock wheels and tires on it with the lift. I will be running the 285/70/17 BFG's on my 17x8 MB Gunner 6 wheels. Well I take that back I currently do have te stock wheels and 265 bfg at tires on it for winter months and summer months I run my aftermarket set.

Got it. Then let me say that I think a lift necessitates larger tires than what you have currently. :)

Do you take it offroad? If not and this is the wife's ride, lower it.

I don't do alot of offroading. but with a 2" rear drop it would be fine. This is my main ride right now but next summer my wife and I will be both driving it the same. I just want something that will make it handle a little better and not be so top heavy.

Anyone have a suggestion on a 2" rear lowering kit? Might do this sooner since I am running stock size tires on the tahoe right now. If I don't like it, it will go back up.

As mentioned before, I got the 2" rear lowering/drop kit from Belltech, installed by Tony, NORCALSS (415-519-2432) and I could not be happier.

I just PM him on a price and what kit to do. Since I am running stock wheels and stock size tires, I am going to try it out to see how I like it (if the price is ok). If I like it I will sell my 285's and 17" rims and buy some oem 20's and some new tires. But If I don't I will just go back to my current set up.

I have never had a lowered vehicle and always had leveled out or lifted trucks with bigger tires. But after driving the Tahoe for a year with the small lift I am not to impressed. I put it on a day after I got it so I can't remember how it rode stock. What my thinking was to lower the rear and put some cooper LTZ tires on it and it would handle great all year round. Plus right now I have major body roll taking corners and not happy with it. Thats why I want a change.

No it's not. :) C'mon now, you know that it looks much cooler lower, that's all. Did you think you were buying a sports car when you bought the truck? Of course not. You can tell these things are top heavy just looking at them. Sure, you'll be lowering the COG by dropping the truck, and that should help with the feeling of body roll -- but you want a drop because it looks so much better...
