Bought this thing private party yesterday, is 2003 100K miles, has 20 inch rims, very nice actually, Highest trim level, 2 wheel drive, runs good, needs a tune up but other than that all is good, paid $8,200. Any thoughts?

sounds like a good deal...

I've noticed depending on where your located, the prices vary up or down. As long as it looks like it's been maintained properly, I don't see why it wouldn't go another 100k

Do you know what maintenance has been done on it? plugs, wires, fuel filter, stuff like that you'll want to check.

The guy was a lawyer, never offroaded it, never towed anything. Said he did all oil changes, and did tranny fluid change, I'm doing plugs, wires , fuel filter tommorow and putting synthetic oil in it. It does shift a bit rough from first gear to 2nd. I'm hoping i didn't get a lemon but for $8K with ALL the bells and whistles and a prestine interior, doesnt seem like he beat on it.

warmer climates dont have need for a 4x4 so why waste the gas even though you may still need the room and towing capactiy.

exactly. People moving, trailer towing highway/city use.

Don;t need 4wd to do that.
PLus 4wd cost more up front and cost more down the road in maintenance and repairs.

+3.. no need for 4x4 when I just cruise around in the city with it. It's not like we have a ton of snow where I need 4 wheels to cruise around with here in Phoenix. The only time it would MAYBE be helpful is at the lake but even then there are boat ramps in a worst case scenario.

sounds like a pretty good buy, post up some pics.

Best thing, these trannys and motors are dime a dozen if ever need replaced. You can find low mileage longblocks for cheap, and 4L60e's are everywhere.
