So I am thinking about getting a power washer to keep my truck clean, what's a good one to get? How much PSI should I look for? Only gonna use it on the trucks and maybe the house once and awhile, looking to spend up to $300 maybe more if needed

Lowes has some of those green power ones. They are decent.

I have a black max electric from Sams club for detailing only. I like it a lot.

I like electric for detailing because it does not run all the time. Only in trigger

I have a gas for the household thing

Didn't think about the gas vs. electric not a bad idea

I bought a 3000 psi gas pressure washer from Northern tool for $300 and it's awesome. Buy the biggest one you can afford. They have pressure adjusters on them.

Only reason I got the electric is that it is used specifically for detailing. You don't want a lot of psi on your paint. It CAN peel if it is weak. Also, I like it because I don't want a gas unit running ALL the time. If you are familiar with detailing....... then.....

Pressure rinse..... apply shampoo...... agitate with brush mitt etc........ pressure rinse........ then onto different parts of the car..... tires wheel wells body........ I would hate to restart the gas engine over a few times in between steps.

If I wash the cars at home I normally do not use the pressure washer unless it's my truck and its covered in mud but I could definitely see where a little electric one would be good for that if you were using it all the time.

Make sure your electrical circuitry in the house can handle the load of an electric pressure washer. I purchased one, got it home and unpacked, and the first time I pulled the trigger I popped the breakers and plunged half the house into darkness.

Boxed it up, took it back, and swapped it for a 2500PSI gas.

One note - be careful when you use it, regardless of which one you get. 2500 PSI will peel your skin off quickly. Use appropriate footwear. I speak from experience....
