Hey all. Nice forum you have here! I'm hoping to be a Tahoe owner at some point in the near future. Anyway, I'm going to look at a 2002 LT this weekend at a dealer. It has 73K miles, 4x4, loaded, 1-owner clean carfax and they are asking $10,490. Only issue I see is the front bumper looks a little off, but I haven't seen it in person to know. Just wondering what a good price might be and what I should look/listen for when I see it in person? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

I bought mine last Feb. with 114k miles 2004 Z71 Tahoe with everything but Nav, sun roof and rear DVD. Got it for $11,800. Go from there I think.

Did it

Well, i pulled the trigger. I now own a clean blue 2002 Tahoe LT with 73,000 miles. Dealer was pretty flexible and I was able to get them down plenty enough to make me happy. Pictures to come soon...

Thanks everyone! Now, my first problem. Coolant was low at the dealer. I'm aware of the Castech head problem on some Tahoes so I actually got them to remove a valve cover for me and I looked inside. I didn't see the logo anyway, and I'm hoping I didn't miss it. Anyway the head was extremely clean so at least I know the guy took care of it. But I added some coolant last night, and the level moved about an inch after driving 40 miles today. Please tell me there could be another explanation for this? I looked under it all over. Outside of a front axle leak I don't see anything anywhere. Anyone have similar issues?

Hey Mike, my guess is a pinhole leak coming from under the water pump. Seems to be relatively common on these motors. Enough comes out to change the fluid level but not enough to create a puddle anywhere. Hope that helps out. Btw, welcome!

Thanks. I hope you're right, that would be ok with me for sure. I'm going to have someone look at it soon, give it a once over. It also has a front axle seal leak which I heard was common. anyone do one of these lately? I'm wondering if I could takle it in an afternoon?
