Overfilling the engine is absolutely no problem. Two quarts too much in this engine is no problem.

I once had an Audi 2 liter four cylinder engine with 4.8 quarts of oil in it where the customer added 3 quarts of oil because he thought the engine was low on oil and drove it 150 kilometers. I drained the oil and found about 8 quarts of oil.

The engine is still running today.

And an Audi is a sensitive ballerina compared to an LS engine which is a cowboy so to speak.

what did Chevrolet say in their commercial?

Like a rock

I'm not gonna run until I need to drive it to the new shop. It has 7 in it now. I'll add the 8th before I start it and head out.

Are you taking the truck to LT Tolman's shop in Colorado Springs?

The shop was called Courtesy Automotive when he bought it. I think it's Autosmith now. He replaced the engine in a member's Denali last year. He's a straight shooter with a Youtube channel and used to work for those hot rod shows on tv.
