So I paid someone to professionally get it as nice as could be before I went on my 2 trips.

She needs some work - a few dings, a crease in a fender, etc. But overall, it looked purty - for a day. lol

Took her out for 1300 miles on the new 6.0 and rebuilt trans, she did fine. Lotta body panel type work needs to done on the inside. I think I'm going to look into new complete front door panels. Stuff like that. Needs new carpet as well. Headliner fixed. Dash and steering wheel buttons are getting worn down, don't look so good, all that cosmetic and rattly interior stuff. Outside I need to replace the front right fender and get some dent knocked out, new bumpers. 18 year old truck, what do you expect, right?

These past models are looking better each time they restyle. Size and functionality were better then, I search for a reason to buy newer but so far have come up empty.

I completely agree with you. I drove the 2007 to 2014 and the 2015 to 2020 models, used of course and I did not like the style as much and the seat comfort sucked. I had a 2002 LT and loved it but did not like the color and did want a Z71 look, hence the 2005. Simpler to work on too, IMO.

Well, my baby broke down on me as we were tying to leave town. Spent a couple hours working on her trying to get my cooling fans working with no luck, then my A/C compressor starting binding up too, so I left her at home.

We rented a Tahoe to take on this 3000 mile trip, cost me a freaking FORTUNE, but OMG it is so nice to drive a new vehicle. It is so much smoother and QUIETER on the highway, the comfort level for the family is insane. I do agree the seats are not as comfortable as my '04, but overall this thins is incredible. I don't know about spending $80k on the damned thing, but it has definitely got me thinking about how bad it would be to have a vehicle payment again. <sigh>

There's absolutely ZERO way to make my current Tahoe as quiet and nice as this one, even if I spent 20k on an entirely new interior, it's an 18 year-old truck with 275,000 miles, it ain't never gonna be like this thing. I'm in love, but it's really sad after all the years of schooling, training, busting my arse and making "big money", owning my own business, I STILL can't afford something like this. <sigh>

****** world sometimes.

I’ve been there..... my best friends parents make crazy amounts of money. Stupid wealthy. Amazing wonderful down to earth people though and always willing to help me in life. Anyways, they have a 2015 escalade esv. It’s now out in Arizona at new business they’re rebuilding there. But they have loaned it to me a couple times in the last year when my 2006 has been out of commission. I rented a 2018 LT package tahoe in October for a day, while on vacation in Utah, and though it wasn’t a caddy was really well equipped. Quiet and smooth. Nothing like my rattly 2006 150k mile Denali. Lol. I’m like I could see myself in on of these. But not anywhere in the near future. Lol. I just don’t make that kinda money :(
But damn that paint looks real good! That detailer knows what he’s doing for sure and did a damn good job! From one detailer to another I can appreciate the professionalism!
