Don't remove the front bumper Balln! If you're like me and are having trouble figuring out how to get those retaining clips out, crawl underneath the Yukon and check out the lower grille. You can clearly see the clips and get a good idea of how they will come out.

I've got a Yukon XL, so no bowtie. Still haven't figured out how to remove the lower grill on it. :( Help? I need to install my Denali style grill!

I have a 2012 XL and just received my grille yesterday and am having SO much trouble figuring out how to remove the bottom clips or the easiest way to get to them. Do I have to remove the front bumper? If so, how?:Frustrated: Any help or pointers you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated. I have searched high and low and there aren't many helpful threads or DIY's about it. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon!

Same problem

Hey guys,

I have been waiting to put my grill in, too. I started to do it yesterday, but had the same problem. Have a 2011 Yukon xl. No bolts on the bottom right and left of grill. Removed all six top bolts of top grill and could not get to the fasteners behind the grill. Called Grillcraft and spoke to Jerry. He could not figure out what was going on.

Going to take it to my buddy to see if he can figure out how to take this damn grill off.

Will let you know what I find out. Good luck!

Any one have a video on how to install aftermarket Denali grille on a slt Yukon.

It seems damn near impossible with out breaking clips or messing up paint to remove. I cant find any videos online on how to do this.

Hey All,
I had bought my grill craft a year and a half ago and just installed today because I had the same problems as everyone else. There are no bolts on the grill as specified in the grill craft directions. Like a few guys had said before, take the top bolts off and then work the retaining clips. There is a youtube video of a guy taking of the grill and that helped me. I tried working the bottom one and ran into a few challenges. It was after working on the top for three hours. Will try again tomorrow and will let you know.
