grinding/screetching noise

yesterday i was driving with the a/c on and out of no where as i pulled into a parking lot i heard a quick screetching noise,it sounded like a belt, so i went to check it and it was,it was the a/c belt it broke, so i replaced it today with an oem a/c belt. ac is back on BUT when i get from 1300- 1900 rpm it makes a horrible loud screetching/grinding noise from the front passenger side of the car. im not sure what it is but its an a/c component,any ideas?

The one thing i`m thinking is that your A/C compressor may be seizing up making it harder to turn and burning the belt making it eventually break.

Take the belt back off and spin the pulley around to check if it`s free. also rock it back and forth like you would check a wheel bearing.

Yeah sounds like the compressor or pully is siezing up.
