My 05 Yukon Denali doesnt have a hood light but has the ground strap from firewall to hood.

In the rust belt put alot grease on stuff . And some rigs are worse then others . I think has alot to do with washing the rigs . Because in Minnesota if you don't wash in winter you'll have rust bucket in no time flat . Just flushing off about once every 2 weeks makes a big difference on the rust factor.

This. Gots to wash em...ALOT. People around here say, "it's just gonna be covered in crap again tomorrow"....Sure, my undercarriage isn't perfect, but it's crazy above average for 13 years here because it gets washed year round on the regular.

I hit all the cheap quickie joints by me in the summer to see who has the best "undercarriage blaster." Most of them now offer an unlimited monthly deal or at least a buy 8 for the price of 10 booklet or something. I've got a barcode in the windshield now, and I can drive through there every day on my way home if I want to.

Now I need to go look at mine lol. Sorry to share incorrect information. I also have no hood light on my 05 Escalade ESV Platinum with every damn option which drives me nuts.

Yeah @ezdaar used to sell a kit. One of these days ill add one I'm sure, but for now I keep a headlamp and several flashlights in it...

Corrosion on those ground straps, plus others, is pretty common. It seems like '90's to early 2000's GM SUV's and trucks end up having broken ground straps, which can cause electrical gremlins in the vehicle. It is so easy to clean up the studs and replace the straps that there is no reason not to do it, also can never hurt to add a strap.
